Figure-eight loop
From WildernessWiki.org
(Redirected from Figure-eight Loop)
The Figure-eight Loop, or Double Figure Eight Knot is a fixed loop, used especially for climbing. It is easily tied, and is quite solid. It forms a secure, non-slipping loop. It takes more time to tie than a Bowline, but it is easier to visually confirm and so it is favored by many rock, ice, and mountain climbers. A properly tied Figure-eight loop should lie flat and tight.
How to Tie
If one desires to tie the loop of the double figure eight through or around an object, a single double eight knot can be tied, and a second traced back through.
