Welcome to WildernessWiki.org

The Wilderness Wiki is a new community-based website dedicated to providing information on all aspects of wilderness living. Anyone can create and edit articles, with or without creating an account - you are the author. Since we went online in January, 2008, we've become highly popular among outdoor enthusiasts, and have compiled dozens of excellent articles and hundreds of media. If you would like to contribute, sign up for free (we don't even ask for your e-mail) and start editing!

Below is an outline of the sort of information which will be compiled here. If you are knowledgeable in any of these areas, please consider writing a brief article. Anything related to working, trekking, and living outdoors from a full tutorial to a quick tip is appreciated.

  • Making an article is easy! For example, if you wanted to create an article on "Mora Knives", just type "Mora Knives" into the search box and press "Go". Then click the "Create this page" link and start writing! Don't worry about format or about sorting your article into the website - our administrators will handle all of that for you.
  • You can also edit any article here. Just click the 'edit' tab at the top of the page.
  • If you have any media you would like to submit (photo, video, or audio), but don't have the time to create an article, please e-mail them to funditor.info@gmail.com; you will be given credit for your work, and the article can link back to your own website.
  • Links shown in red lead to articles which have not yet been created. You can get these articles started by clicking the link.
  • For some quick information on formatting (e.g. bold, italics, linking, bullets), check out the cheatsheet.

We welcome all additions!

If you have any questions, please visit the help page or ask me here.
